His technical knowledge, specialised plumbing equipment and patience to explain the works required was the reason why we used his services. The trade industry is full of untrustworthy individuals looking to rip you off, often leaving you with a large bill and damage that only has to be repaired again. We were very fortunate to have been referred to Corey to rectify shoddy and misdiagnosed work undertaken by previous plumbers. Don’t  waste your time not knowing who to use go with CGC plumbing.

The Basin sits directly at the foot of the Dandenongs and it gets the water first. Runoff coming off the hills is the single defining feature of plumbing here, and it drives most of what we are called out for. Stormwater systems in The Basin regularly handle volumes that flat suburbs never see, and where a system was sized decades ago for a smaller house it will not cope with a serious downpour now.

The tree cover compounds everything. Established natives and exotics through The Basin fill gutters and valleys continuously, and they send roots into any clay sewer join they can find. Root intrusion here is more aggressive than in the open suburbs simply because there is more tree per property. On the older weatherboard cottages with original earthenware laterals, it is close to inevitable.

Roof plumbing is a bigger part of our work in The Basin than almost anywhere. Blocked box gutters and valleys on the steeper roofs push water back under the tiles, and the first sign is usually an internal ceiling stain rather than anything visible outside. Regular clearing is genuinely preventative here rather than optional.

The housing is mixed — older cottages and weatherboards through the established streets, newer builds on subdivided and infill blocks. That means we do not assume the infrastructure before we look. A camera inspection on a first sewer blockage saves guessing.

Steep driveways and stepped blocks make access a genuine consideration for larger work, and we would rather discuss that upfront than discover it on the day.
